FRANCO-AMERICAN FACULTY PROGRAM

The Franco-American Faculty Program was established in 2022 and is administered by the AFdOKC with the support of the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Any questions can be directed to Peggy Whittington, Chair Franco-American Faculty Committee at Fafellows.afdokc@gmail.com.

In the inaugural year of this program, three French teachers were chosen to go to France to participate in an intensive two-week professional development immersion opportunity. They connected with their French counterparts to learn new approaches to education and classroom methodologies as well as sharing their respective cultures. Oklahoma students, schools, and communities will benefit from their experience, newly acquired skills, reinvigorated passion for teaching, and global perspective.

This program has developed from the previously established Memorandum of Understanding between the Academie d’Amiens and the State Department of Education of Oklahoma. This program is made possible with donations and grants from the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA, and the Kirkpatrick Family Fund in Oklahoma City.
